NDFALA: Weekly Legislative Update - 1/21/23

The following is a message from our sister organization, North Dakota Family Alliance Legislative Action.

Dear Friends,

Yesterday we completed the 12th legislative day of session out of 80 total days, and in these first 12 days we testified 16 times. This amount of testimony is more than twice the rate of past sessions. It means there are lots of important things going on that affect your and my values, and NDFALA is committed to being there every day representing you.

Last week: We testified on the bills we had in last week’s update. The bills dealt with topics such as requiring the Pledge of Allegiance, protecting religious freedom, creating resources to help pregnant moms, preventing the harms of marijuana edibles, and more. The testimonies were well received in all committees and we were thanked by committee members and individuals in the audience alike.

This coming week: The following bills are coming up next week. As you can see, there are a lot of them. In this table, there is a link in the last column that will take you to the bill page where you can read it, get more details on hearings, submit testimony, and more. If you’ve never submitted written or oral testimony before, but would like to know how, feel free to call (701-355-6425) and we can walk you through it in just a few minutes.

Also note that we will start our Call to Action emails on key bills for when we really need your help, so watch for these starting next week.
